Ingredients
  

  • Base
  • pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Filling / Sauce
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • ½ cup water
  • Thickening
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Topping
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions sliced

Method
 

  1. Season the chicken with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet and cook the chicken until golden brown on both sides.
  3. Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic, ginger, vinegar, and water.
  4. Pour the sauce into the pan and simmer gently.
  5. Add the cornstarch slurry and stir until the sauce thickens into a glossy glaze.
  6. Coat the chicken in the sauce and let it rest briefly before serving.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days.
  • Add vegetables like broccoli or bell peppers for a full meal.
  • If sauce thickens too much, add a splash of water.
  • Chicken thighs provide the juiciest texture.
