Ingredients
  

  • Chicken Base
  • 1 lb chicken breast cubed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • Orange Sauce
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 2 tbsp orange zest
  • cup soy sauce
  • cup honey or brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • Thickening
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water

Method
 

  1. Cut chicken into bite-size pieces and prepare flour coating mixture.
  2. Dip chicken in eggs then coat in flour mixture.
  3. Fry chicken in oil until golden and crispy.
  4. Simmer orange juice, soy sauce, honey, vinegar, garlic, and ginger in a saucepan.
  5. Add cornstarch slurry and cook until sauce thickens.
  6. Toss fried chicken in the sauce until fully coated.
  7. Serve warm with rice or noodles.

Notes

  • Best served immediately for the crispiest texture.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days.
  • Add chili flakes for a spicy variation.
  • Fresh orange juice gives the best flavor.
