Ingredients
  

  • Base
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Sauce
  • 1 cup crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • ½ tsp sugar optional
  • Topping
  • 200 g mozzarella cheese
  • 8 –10 fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Method
 

  1. Mix flour, yeast, sugar, salt, water, and olive oil to form a soft dough.
  2. Knead until smooth and let it rise for about 1 hour.
  3. Prepare the sauce by simmering tomatoes, garlic, and seasonings.
  4. Roll out the dough and spread the sauce evenly.
  5. Add mozzarella and bake at 220°C (425°F) for 12–15 minutes.
  6. Top with fresh basil and slice before serving.

Notes

  • Dough can be prepared a day in advance and refrigerated.
  • Use fresh mozzarella for the best creamy texture.
  • Add chili flakes if you prefer a spicy kick.
  • Reheat pizza in the oven to keep the crust crispy.
