Ingredients
  

  • For the Chicken Base
  • 2 pounds chicken pieces
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • For the Crispy Coating
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • For Frying
  • 3 to 4 cups vegetable oil or canola oil

Method
 

  1. Place chicken pieces in a bowl with buttermilk salt and pepper and marinate for at least 1 hour.
  2. Mix flour paprika garlic powder onion powder salt black pepper and cayenne pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Remove chicken from buttermilk and coat thoroughly in the seasoned flour mixture.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan and fry chicken until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Transfer chicken to a rack or paper towels and let it rest before serving.

  • Marinate overnight for deeper flavor.
  • Reheat in the oven to maintain crisp texture.
  • Add chili powder for extra spice.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container.
