Ingredients

  • Pasta
  • 250 g penne or fusilli pasta
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • White Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon chili flakes
  • Topping
  • ½ cup mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup mixed vegetables
  • 1 tablespoon parsley

Method

  1. Boil pasta in salted water until tender but slightly firm. Drain and set aside.
  2. Melt butter in a pan and sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
  3. Stir in flour and cook briefly to create the base of the sauce.
  4. Slowly whisk in milk and cook until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
  5. Add seasonings and simmer until slightly thick.
  6. Mix pasta and vegetables into the sauce until well coated.
  7. Sprinkle cheese on top and let it melt before serving.

Notes

  • Add extra milk while reheating if the sauce thickens.
  • Freshly grated cheese gives the best melt and flavor.
  • You can add chicken or mushrooms for variation.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
