Ingredients

  • 4 slices bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil optional
  • Filling
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 2 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon cream cheese optional
  • Optional Toppings
  • 1 tablespoon caramelized onions
  • 2 tomato slices
  • 1 teaspoon chopped herbs
  • Pinch black pepper

Method
 

  1. Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
  2. Place cheese between bread slices with buttered sides facing outward.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-low heat.
  4. Cook sandwich 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  5. Let rest briefly, then slice and serve warm.
